Buenavista Development Cooperative

Buenavista Development Cooperative started in February 1999, but its operation began in 2003 with Php 12,500.00 capitalization and 30 members who were local government unit employees.  

The cooperative started by selling in its grocery mart and lending services. In 2014, the cooperative was granted financial assistance by a government bank with the construction of its current office building. At present, Buenavista Development Cooperative outgrew its initial employees and was able to encourage new enrollees resulting in 4,000 memberships and 56 staff.

Gearing up for the expansion of its presence across Western Visayas, Buenavista Development Cooperative engaged in CocoFinance’s financing program to strengthen its lending activities for coconut farmers. 

In the Island of Guimaras, Buenavista Development Cooperative is one of the key players in the financing industry with various businesses which some of those are gasoline station, remittance, steel hull passenger and cargo shipping line, and poultry.
